Job Description Summary:
Job ID = 580. The Athletic Ticket Office Student Manager is the highest position that an Athletic Ticket Office student worker can hold. They are expected at all times to communicate effectively within the Athletics department, provide a high standard of customer service, adhere to NCAA regulations, and uphold Miami University policy, regulations, and ethical standards. A large portion of what a Student Manager does is leading, supervising, and guiding all Ticket Office student workers inside the Ticket Office and on game days. Each manager will be assigned to a specific sport to oversee and an area of the game day to manage.
Essential Functions:
Game day:
Ticket Seller
General, Player Guest, and Recruit Will Call distribution
Problem solving
Scanner Troubleshooting
In Office:
Order Processing
Ticket sales via phone calls, face to face interactions, and online transactions
Assisting in sales and marketing
General and Player Guest Will Call Preparation
Detailed understanding of Miami sporting events and ticket office policies
Complete requested reports on ticket orders, sales, or facilities
Problem Solving
Special projects assigned by the Director of Ticket Operations
Management and distribution of department gift certificates
Assisting scheduling of office hours and event staffing
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualities desired in a successful student manager include effective leadership, patience, small learning curve, composure under pressure, tolerance of ambiguity, and critical thinking. Must be able to work all home football games and 80% of other ticketed athletic events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Effective communication, patience, small learning curve, composure under pressure, tolerance of ambiguity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Must be able to work 100% of Miami home football games and 70% of all other ticketed Miami Athletic events.
Preferred Qualifications:
A high level of Miami Pride.
Enthusiasm for Miami Athletics.
Experience handling cash/balancing cash drawers.
Students studying Sports Leadership and Management, Accounting, Management, and other related fields will find this position beneficial in gaining real-world experiences.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
