Job Description Summary:
JobID: 4796 Are you both creative and detail-oriented? Global Initiatives is looking for students to assist the Assistant Director for Communications & Marketing in the development and implementation of strategic marketing communications for all offices within Global Initiatives: Study Abroad & Away, International Student & Scholar Services, Confucius Institute, Center for American & World Cultures, and Continuing Education. The projects are time-sensitive.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Designing and creating, writing, and editing of content for both print and electronic media.
Assistance in the creation of short informational videos, preferably using Adobe After Effects. If you are unfamiliar with this program, you must be willing to learn and partake in training.
Assistance in the development and maintenance of social media platforms and campaigns, primarily Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
Attendance at events to promote and market timely programs and to distribute information with target audiences.
Summer term and winter term hours are available, so this position could be all year-round if possible.
Preferred majors:
Interactive Media Studies, Professional Writing, Graphic Design, Strategic Communication, and Marketing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to work on assignments independently and quickly in a time-sensitive environment, should have experience working with different genres of print design and documentation (such as: brochures, flyers, posters, et cetera), have an understanding of grammar and editing, and must have strong business communication skills.
Must be comfortable and proficient when working with Adobe Creative Suite design software?Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoShop in particular?and Macintosh hardware. Preferred video and animation experience with Adobe After Effects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements-graphic design experience, advanced Adobe Photoshop skills and/or other desktop publishing software

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
