Job Description Summary:
Job ID: 5963 - FT - Classified (hourly)
Assure proper installation of network cabling facilities to University standards of design.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Install structured cabling for voice, data, security, and video for inside plant service, and estimate hours and materials needed for installation projects
Responsible for installing new conduit systems in new construction and renovations and ensure standards.
Coordinate television headend equipment installation, support, and associated cable with service provisers including adherence to applicable contract and service specifications.
Maintains cabling test records, CAD print documentation, plant labeling and documentation.
Maintains inventory of tools and materials.
Reviews cabling work performed by outside contractors to ensure that guidelines and timelines are met.
Performs adds, moves, and changes in coordination with telephony contractor(s) and Information Technology Services.
Meet with departments to assist in planning move, add, and change work as required.
Install, inspect and maintain firestopping in inside plant conveyance.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires and at least three years of training beyond high school (gained concurrently or at any time) and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer Industry Certifications: BICSI Installer or Technician
Prefer higher education.
Basic experience with standard telephony color coding for wiring and fiber optic cabling
Basic experience with wiring on 66 type and 110 type termination hardware
Basic experience with television headend and cable distribution systems
Basic experience with the termination and testing voice, video and data copper cables, copper riser, and fiber optic cables
Basic experience inspecting cabling conduit and pathways in preparation for cabling work
Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards
Ability to read and interpret documents created with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided drafting software

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
