The Assistant Director MUR-ELC provides specific support for the day-to-day operations of the ELC and related programs on all Regional campuses. Additionally, the Assistant Director participates in the marketing and development of the ELC and its programs.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Manages day-to-day operations of the English Language Center.
Researches, develops and launches new English Language Center programs
Develops marketing materials for the promotion of English Language Center and maintains center social media presence
Conducts market research of potential markets and student recruitment in new locations
Establishes and maintains stakeholder communication channels on and off campus
Plans and leads extracurricular activities and events on and off campus and student orientations
Minimum Qualifications:
The Assistant Director MUR-ELC will possess a master's degree in TESOL (or a derivative). In lieu of the master's in TESOL, a master's degree (in any field) with extensive global educational/training experience in higher education and/or corporate education with an English language element and a combination of three or more of the following will suffice:
Master's degree in language related field
TEFL or TESOL certificate (120 hours)
5 or more years of ESL/ELL classroom experience
5 or more years of experience living and teaching in a foreign country in the ESL environment
5 or more years of experience developing and publishing ESL related materials
5 or more years of experience teaching online or use of LMS platforms in ESL-related courses
5 or more years of experience working with young learners and adults from diverse backgrounds
(experience can be gained concurrently)
Also require:
Proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google docs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs)
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
Leadership skills
Working knowledge of SNSs, LMSs, and MOOCs
Excellent ability to understand and use English grammar terms
Proctoring experience or knowledge of various English language assessments (TOEFL IPT, TOEFL iBT, TOEFL PBT, IELTS, iTEP, ACT)
Ability and experience in developing in-house language assessment instruments
Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing curricula
Experience developing and leading staff and faculty training sessions
Willingness to learn web site or SNSs development and content generation
Passion for global education and working with multi-cultural groups
Entrepreneurial spirit in the development of short courses and specialized seminars as related to the ESL, IEP, ELL, ESP fields.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
