This position is responsible for the implementation and support of network systems and integrated technical systems in support of Miami University's academic, research and business missions.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Assist in the planning and design of network systems in accordance with university standards.
Assist in the installation and support of network systems, network applications and services.
Maintain network documentation and databases for network systems,
Assist in analyzing system issues and improving network systems and operations
Recommend upgrades based on technical trends or changes in network technologies
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of network systems in conjunction with necessary security programs and policies
Assist in translating business needs into technical solutions. Communicate technical information to team members and other institution-wide staff.
Serve as team member, active participant and contributor for IT initiatives and projects.
Assist with service disruptions including classification, prioritization and initiation of action, documentation of facts, analysis of root cause, and implementation of remedies
Maintain accurate records, resolve customer service requests including help desk tickets as applicable.
Maintain focus on the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction.
Provide quotations and specify materials for purchase on an ongoing basis
Participate in professional development activities.
May teach one credit bearing course per semester and with divisional approval.
Carry a mobile phone and maintain availability for on-call rotation. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have the ability to drive service vehicles.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field earned by date of hire.
Minimum 2 years experience supporting or designing a large-scale multi-building wired and wireless network environment
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years demonstrated experience with wireless network systems support and problem resolution
2+ years demonstrated experience in the administration of a converged Cisco voice, video, data network to include DNS / DHCP, network VLAN assignments and subnetting, network monitoring and management, load balancing, firewalls, IPv4 and IPv6, and 802.1x.
Preferred Industry Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate.
Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to learn and adapt to new environments.
Ability to drive service vehicles for onsite support.
2+ years working knowledge of incident and change management procedures
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to readily learn and adapt to new technology.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to prioritize and juggle multiple demands and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work with a team approach and in a service-oriented manner.
Ability to learn and adapt to new environments.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
