Job Description Summary:
A critical role reporting to the Director of Admission, the Senior Associate Director for Regional Enrollment will provide the primary leadership, vision, and direction regarding Miami's non-resident enrollment strategies and goals and its regional enrollment staff. The Senior Associate Director will assume responsibility for the development, planning, execution, and assessment of all aspects of recruitment and yield travel for the regional enrollment team consisting of admission professionals in key and emerging markets throughout the United States. Utilizing data, demographic trends, and other forms of quantitative feedback, the Senior Associate Director will continuously monitor and evaluate the national enrollment landscape and the effectiveness of recruitment and yield efforts to successfully enroll an increasingly geographically-diverse first-year cohort.
A member of the Strategic Enrollment Management and Marketing (SEMM) leadership team, the Senior Associate Director will provide supervision of the regional enrollment staff, ensuring use of industry-leading best practices and emerging trends, continued and new opportunities for leadership and presence in key organizations at the regional level, and the development and deployment of detailed and ambitious strategic plans for each regional territory. The position will also assess and communicate the impact and ROI of these positions at the conclusion of each enrollment cycle.
The position includes responsibility for a geographic recruitment market and other general admission counseling duties such as application review, admission presentations, and special events.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Lead and assume responsibility for all aspects of the regional enrollment staff consisting of admission professionals in multiple states and differentiating market types across the United States. Conduct all facets of leadership and management for a remotely-based team, including staff development and training to ensure knowledge, understanding, and application of data leveraging and analysis and other recruitment strategies and ensuring continuous updates on campus activities and events and integration of the regional staff in all Office of Admission activities, meetings, programming, and functions.
In conjunction with the Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management and Marketing (SEMM) and the Director of Admission, develop focused, integrated, and data-driven short- and long-term strategic enrollment plans for each regional market which align with the University's ambitious enrollment goals. Utilizing national datasets, demographic trends, and institutional information, measure effectiveness of current and future recruitment practices and yield strategies, provide assessment and analysis of opportunities for market growth and pinpoint areas of market concern. Collaborate with EMSS Research and Analytics, Office of Institutional Research, and external partners to identify and analyze data for the creation of effective and efficient travel strategies to stabilize existing markets and inventive and resourceful strategies to spark growth and name-recognition in new markets. Monitor trends and strategies at the national and regional level of peer, competitor, and aspirant institutions and provide insights and recommendations to SEMM leadership, as well as other key leaders within the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).
Continuously monitor, evaluate, and report on the year-to-date activity of each regional market, assessing prospect and inquiry management, application generation, and yield activity to ensure the University meets its ambitious non-resident enrollment goals. Provide ongoing assessment of the impact and ROI of each market, as well as the regional enrollment positions at the conclusion of each enrollment cycle.
Assume budget management and responsibility for all indexes related to the regional enrollment staff; develop and oversee budgets for each regional territory, including all recruitment travel, programming, and professional development. In conjunction with regional enrollment staff, assess the effectiveness of all strategies and efforts, measure the efficacy of specific tactics, and continuously seek opportunities to maximize the leveraging of University resources.
Collaborate with Enrollment Operations and Enrollment & Marketing Communication to ensure that all facets of regional recruitment strategies and tactics employ an integrated approach with respect to technology and communications and with an eye towards activities that are data-driven and indicative of industry-leading best practices and trends.
Conduct 4-6 weeks of recruitment travel, admission application review, and prospective student and counselor programs and presentations; serve as a member of the SEMM Leadership Team and represent Miami University at key recruitment and professional development events across the US. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with experience in higher education, recruitment, or related field, and 5-7 years minimum experience working in an educational or corporate environment with positions of increasing responsibility; Master's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.
Experience working or managing a regionally- or remotely-based team.
Candidate will be politically savvy and diplomatic, with a proven track record of maintaining and cultivating relationships with key internal and external constituents.
Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, group presentation skills, and a proven commitment to work with and recruit diverse individuals; candidate must demonstrate expertise and/or experience with marketing or communication efforts.
Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously; must be able to perform overnight travel and possess a valid driver's license.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer systems and various software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Slate, data visualization tools, and other recruitment technologies.
Candidates residing in the Northeast/Boston region.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
