eLearning Production Assistant
This position supports eLearning Miami (ELM). The eLearning Production Assistant will work under the direction of multiple staff in ELM. There are four primary job roles associated with this position: Graphic Design & Interactive Media, Canvas Course Production, Video Production, and Accessibility Support. ELM offers flexible schedules Monday - Friday with up to 22 hours for full time students, and up to 40 hours for students who are on break (e.g. Summer, Winter, etc), and not currently enrolled in classes.
Graphic Design and Interactive Media: Primary tasks include graphic design for courses and events, Canvas template design support, graphic file asset management, course gamification, and design and development of interactive multimedia course elements. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating their graphic design and/or interactive media design skills. Current IMS and Graphic Design majors & minors are strongly encouraged to apply.
Canvas Course Production: Primary tasks include eLearning course production within the University LMS Canvas. Including, but not limited to, formatting canvas course pages, adding course templates, setting up assignments, adding media elements, etc. The ideal candidate for this role is able to learn new software applications quickly, and has experience working with HTML. No prior experience is required.
Video Production: Primary tasks include assisting in all aspects of video production in support of eLearning course modules (20% filming and 80% editing) for faculty. Video production record maintenance, and script preparation, and other duties as required. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive editing experience in Adobe Premiere CC and a strong desire to develop their video production/editing skills working within a professional studio environment.
Accessibility Support: Primary tasks include video closed captioning, electronic document remediation, generating Canvas UDOIT reports, and performing web page remediation in Canvas. No prior experience is required. The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional attention to detail and basic familiarity with HTML and document formatting.
Minimum Qualifications:
All candidates for the eLearning Production Assistant position should demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and strictly adhere to university and department procedures. Additionally, eLearning Production Assistants are frequently cross-trained to support multiple roles and strong candidates with have the flexibility to work outside of their primary support areas, as required.
NOTE: When working with Instructional Designers, The eLearning Miami office will provide training on the Canvas Learning Management System and the creation of accessible materials as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Some graphic design skills are preferred.
The eLearning Office will provide training on the Canvas LMS and the creation of accessible materials.
Priority will be given to those with graphic design skills and availability to work over the summer.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
