Serves as a member of the senior leadership team in the Office of the University Registrar. Represents the office in the absence of the University Registrar and Senior Associate University Registrar. Has oversight of enrollment operations within the Office and directly supervises those units within the Office which impact student enrollment and academic records.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Overall University Registrar Office:
Maintains the highest level of institutional integrity for the critical office responsibility of maintaining the degree and student records of all past, present, and future Miami students.
Ensures the highest level of accuracy in processes supporting faculty, administration, and students.
Ensures the highest degree of privacy and confidentiality for office operations given the sensitive nature of academic and personal information.
Serves as a member of the leadership team and the management team supporting the Office of the University Registrar, Enrollment Management and Student Success, Academic Affairs and University visions.
Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating day to day operations and future initiatives. Represents the Office of the University Registrar in the absence of the University Registrar and Senior Associate University Registrar.
Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Directly oversees day to day operations in the student enrollment (class scheduling/registration/enrollment reporting) and academic records operational areas of the University Registrar's Office, including but not limited to:
Class/final exam schedule development, academic year/multi-year calendar development, and scheduling policy enforcement
Beginning and end of term planning and process execution
Student registration and all associated processes and applications
Official transcript processing
NSC enrollment reporting
FERPA policy administration
Academic record maintenance including all imaging and record retention processes
Directly supervises and manages staff in the student enrollment (class scheduling/registration/enrollment reporting) and academic records operational areas of the University Registrar's Office. Prepares annual evaluations and sets goals for supervised staff for review by senior leadership.
Serves as University Registrar Office liaison with EMSS Communications staff for all student communications.
Leads and/or assists with new and existing process, system, and software implementations/upgrades.
Serves as IT project liaison on assigned office projects. (Associate role)
Serves as IT project owner on assigned office projects. (Senior Associate role)
Serves as University Registrar Office liaison to University constituents and outside parties regarding FERPA including approval of student data requests
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Registrar for Operations qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years' progressive experience in a University Registrar's office with increasing responsibilities, with a preference for experience in class scheduling, registration, enrollment reporting, and academic records (Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be considered).
Established functional experience with web-based information systems.
Have a vision for the future evolution of Registrar functions and practices within a broader higher education context.
Must possess strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills congruent with collaborative management style and be committed to teamwork and camaraderie in all areas of the University.
Solid experience in implementing and enhancing student systems.
Knowledge of federal and state law (e.g., FERPA, OEEO, open records, etc.).
Ability to oversee multiple tasks, set priorities, and manage resources, staff, and operational processes.
Embrace the Enrollment Management philosophy.
Strong appreciation for cultural diversity.
Senior Associate Registrar for Operations qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of seven years' progressive experience in a University Registrar's office with increasing responsibilities, with a preference for experience in class scheduling, registration, enrollment reporting, and academic records (Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be considered).
Established functional experience with web-based information systems.
Have a vision for the future evolution of Registrar functions and practices within a broader higher education context.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
