Assists in the planning, development, facilitation, coordination and communication of wellness programs and/or resources that create awareness and improve the health and well-being of Miami faculty, staff and their family members.
Meet with departments to increase visibility of and participate in wellness programs. Provide assistance with the development, implementation and evaluation of university-wide wellness initiatives. This includes conducting research and writing management proposals.
Provides support in the benefits & wellness unit of the Department of Human Resources.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Assist in the maintenance, development, and implementation of programs and incentives, which drive participation and reward health improvements and healthy behaviors.
Assist in the measurement and reporting of Healthy Miami programs impact and effectiveness.
Assist in the development of strategic action plans based on data to improve participation and health-related outcomes.
Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and development of fitness programs. This includes teaching of group fitness and overseeing fitness center operations.
Recommend changes to and assist with the maintenance of wellness websites and online wellness portals.
Work with university departments to assess and determine educational needs and assist with selection of subject matter experts.
Assist in establishing productive working relationships with internal units and external groups, agencies, and facilitators.
Create and facilitate workshops and wellness specific modules.
Assist in the development and maintenance of wellness-reporting databases.
Develop and manage project and event budgets as appropriate.
Aid in sourcing and the evaluation of programming from outside facilitators for effectiveness.
Assist with the training, supervising, and evaluation of student interns.
Requires the ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to facilitate early morning and/or evening programing, as well as occasional weekend events.
Work on HR/Wellness initiatives and special projects as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in health promotion, wellness, public health, kinesiology, nutrition, dietetics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations. Experience with Microsoft Office products, and at a minimum intermediate Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in health related field. CHES, ACSM, NWI, or similar health and wellness professional certification. Registered Dietician, Certified Health Coach, Group Fitness Instructor Certification, Personal Trainer Certification, or other health related national certifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
