Visiting Assistant Professor in Engineering Technology beginning January 2019. This is a FT appointment for one semester (Spring 2019).
Engineering Technology is a growing and dynamic department offering a professionally rewarding opportunity for the right candidate. Over the past few years the department has hired several new high-caliber faculty members who have strong and diverse research interests with extraordinary teaching abilities.
The department offers ABET/ETAC accredited bachelor's degree programs with concentrations in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology; and ABET/ETAC accredited associate degree programs in Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. The department is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science of Miami University and is based on Miami's open-admission regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, Ohio.

Duties/Physical Demands:
Visiting Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering Technology; advise undergraduates and provide service to the department and the university as opportunities exist. The position will serve the Miami University's Regional campus locations in Ohio (Middletown, Hamilton and West Chester).
Faculty in the department teach undergraduate courses during day and evening hours. Some courses may be delivered by interactive video and web conferencing. Courses include Fundamental Mechanics such as: Statics and Dynamics, Mechanisms and Machine Design, Solid Modeling, Finite Element Analysis, Engineering Materials, Computer-Aided Drafting and Computer-Aided Manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or closely related field by date of appointment.
Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to faculty with relevant and technologically current industry experience; Professional Engineering license; or postsecondary teaching experience. Individuals interested in teaching in other areas of Mechanical Engineering Technology such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
