Performs complex to advanced administrative and clerical tasks related to overseeing and monitoring the operations of a library division
Duties/Physical Demands:
Monitors and reviews operations of unit; ensures smooth workflow; enforces policies and procedures; ensures work product meets professional standards.
Serves as informational resource to staff; investigates and resolves problems or difficulties related to area of expertise.
Assists Library patrons; answers inquiries and provides information.
Oversees student employees by scheduling and assigning tasks; monitors performance to ensure deadlines and applicable standards are met.
Prepares various reports regarding operations.
Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders as necessary.
Assists with processes including ordering and invoicing, monographic receipt, copy cataloging, maintenance of electronic resources and documentation.
Contributes to the supervision of student employees; participates in departmental cross-training; may staff service desks; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires eighteen to twenty-four months of coursework or training beyond high school and three years of library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with an integrated library system (Sierra preferred). Important skill sets include: familiarity with standard office applications; ability to adapt to changing and new technologies; attention to detail; and strong organizational, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Experience hiring, training, and evaluating student employees.
Hours Per Week/Percent Time:
40 hours/week, 100% time
Work Hours/Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5p.m. (Hours vary during holidays and semester breaks)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
