Overview of Position
The Staff Psychologist performs the duties of a psychologist, providing generalist clinical services to students; training and supervisory services to mental health trainees; and consultation services to faculty, staff, students and parents/families.
Duties/Physical Demands:
Staff Psychologist responsibilities:
Provides multiculturally informed psychological services, including psychological and substance use assessments, attention problem screenings, and individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to Miami University students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns
Intervenes in crisis and emergency situations of a mental health nature with students, including after hours on-call responsibilities
Consults with faculty, staff, students, families, and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students
Initiates and responds to requests to provide psycho-educational programming to various groups within the university community
Provides clinical supervision and training to staff, psychology interns within the SCS APA-accredited psychology internship training program, and other trainees, commensurate with the psychologist's licensure status
Maintains clinical records and provides clinical documentation and communication with external practitioners as necessary for ethical clinical treatment
Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings, consultations, and professional development
Assumes responsibility for other assignments including serving on divisional and university committees
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited doctoral training program and a completed APA-approved internship prior to the position start date.
License-eligible as a psychologist in Ohio within one year of start date
Demonstrated interest or experience in providing clinical services and psycho-educational programming to university students
Demonstrated ability to work independently and work well in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed as a psychologist in Ohio
Demonstrated interest and experience in providing psychological services to students of color, non-traditional students, student veterans, and students with disabilities
Demonstrated interest and experience working with eating disorders and/or psychological assessment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
