Job Description Summary:
A student working in this position contributes to the Starbucks Experience by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and missions of Miami University and Starbucks.
Delivers legendary customer service by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer.
Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the venue and customers for cues.
Follows Miami University and Starbucks operational policies and follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
Provides quality products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
Assists with new staff training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
Student staff will be expected to:
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Comply with a dress code that prohibits displaying tattoos, piercings in excess of two per ear, and unnatural hair colors, such as blue or pink.
Be available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
Engage with and understand customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication.
Be available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.

Work Hours/Schedule: Flexible work hours mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work weekends. 12 hrs. minimum per wk.
Minimum Qualifications to Apply:
Must be a registered Miami University student with 6 or more registered credit hours.
Must be able to follow detailed instructions and retain information
Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours
Ability to list, pull, grab or reach items weighing up to 30 lbs
Requirements once Hired:
Completion of ServSafe Level 1 exam
Completion of the Miami University Student Confidentiality Agreement
Completion of the Miami University FERPA form (reference requests)
Completion of any other mandated departmental training

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
